The First iPhone

 The First iPhone

During the early years of technology, communication and entertainment was more difficult than it is today. Communication was happening through carrier pigeons, typewriters, motion picture, and cassette tapes. Around 1350 BCE, carrier pigeons was the first form of communication to deliver news in Ancient Egypt. Thousands of year later, we transitioned to mechanical tools, such as the typewriter, which resulted in using a keyboard and paper. While this form handled text, the motion pictures and cassette tapes were used for storytelling and audio. This was the beginning of more advanced technology for the future.

Modern communication began when Apple introduced the first computer, called the Macintosh. This computer was made to point and click on what you wanted on the screen, making the use of technology easier. In 2007, Steve Jobs wanted a more abstract form of communication through technology, but greater than any invention before. From this, he showed the world the first iPhone, and referred to it as "a revolutionary and magical product that is literally five years ahead of any other mobile phone." It was called "revolutionary" because not only is it way ahead of it's time, but it was also a phone, an iPod, and it used internet, all in one device that can fit right in the pocket of your pants. This invention not only changed how we communicate, but also changed every aspect of how we live.

Communication changed with the iPhone, in which you can now talk to people from miles away just from the click of a button. A year following the release of the iPhone, the App Store was created, which was the start of phones we have today with social media, games, and  a GPS. This feature was life-changing because not only was the phone used for communicating, but it was now a replacement for social lives, board games, hand held maps, and how we eat. The App Store made it easy for businesses to grow, such as Uber and DoorDash, because from the click of a button, you can have food delivered right to your doorstep. This change of technology altered how we travel and eat.

Today, the iPhone is not only a internet held device, but the most popular invention in the world. In 2026, there are 42 different models of the iPhone, with more than 1.5 billion users, easily being ahead of its competitors, like Samsung. It has changed how we eat, travel, communicate, and socialize. It's also a way for people to make money and express themselves on social media by being an influencer, or a content creator. Since the invention of the iPhone, Apple became one of the most successful companies in history, making communication effortless for everyone, no matter the distance.
